What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic spine anatomy of the nervous system

Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems as well as the effects of these disorders on general health.  Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints including, but not limited to, back pain, neck pain, and pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches.

Every part of your body is controlled by your nervous system. Disfunction of the spine due to misalignments-called subluxations-can cause poor health or mechanics, even in areas of the body that seem uninvolved with with spine and spinal column. Misalignments can also reduce the ability of the body to adapt to its ever-changing environment. Even the slightest misalignment of your spine may affect nerve transmission, preventing that portion of your body from responding to the best of its ability.

Why should I get adjusted?

Every part of your body is controlled my the nerves that come from the spine. The spine protest the fragile spinal cord from being injured. Sometimes the bones that make up the spine, called the vertebra, can become misaligned and put pressure onto the nerve roots where they exit. This will negatively affect the area that the nerves go to.
